Since this psalter arrived it has been my daily companion, and to use it at prayer does not seem in any way a chore. I cannot comment on the quality of the translation, but trust it without question.
The text is in a timeless King James style English, but avoids any archaic words whose meaning has changed. It runs very well when recited, and just "sounds" Orthodox in a way that other otherwise perfectly fine translations from the Masoretic text do not. The continuity between the Old and New Testaments is more clear.
The font size is comfortably large, suitable for reading from a lectern, or by those whose eyesight is less than perfect. It stays open when set down on a table. An interesting accommodation was made for modern readers: the headings give the psalm numbers from the Septuagint in both Roman and Arabic numerals.
The book is superbly bound, and is printed on high quality cream-colored paper. Crimson ink is used for the running headings, subtitles, woodcuts, and verse numbers. Traditional typographic details with respect to leading, margins, old style numerals, small caps, letterspacing, ligatures, etc. are all observed. It is in every way a classic setting of a classic text.
