This version of our Holy Liturgies has been produced by St Tikhon's Monastery Press to supersede the old (1960s) translation used by the OCA. It is vastly superior and in fact is now probably the best English version produced by any "jurisdiction" now available.
One of the reasons for this is that it does not attempt anything new or startling but allows itself to be influenced by the best previous versions, especially those of the Antiochian Church, Jordanville and the Sourozh Diocese (UK). It is a happy sign that perhaps all Anglophone Orthodox will one day pray in the same words.
It is worth reading the introduction carefully.
The book, like its predecessor "the Office Book", is beautifully produced and has very full and clear rubrics for the priest and deacon.
The editors should be thanked for they have truly loved "the beauty of Thy House".
Traditional English is of course used throughout.
