As a young professional working in Jerusalem, Ashley Lackovich-Van Gorp struggled to embrace her Orthodox faith with all her heart. She never dreamed her search for an intimate relationship with Christ would lead her to Ethiopia and into the hearts and lives of two little orphan girls—now orphans no longer.
This book features prominently the work of the St. Mary Magdalene Convent in Jerusalem and profiles of the abbess and nuns working there. The author worked in the Bethany School, a school for Palestinian girls run by the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem.
This book, along with Holy Trinity Publications newly published book Recollections of Jerusalem, provide two views of women involved and shaped by their time at the Bethany School at very different times in history.
