Help the beleaguered Glinsk Hermitage!

Posted by

Update 4/29/2015: With your help we raised $1,159 for the Glinsk Hermitage! May the Lord bless your generosity!

We recently received disturbing news from the Glinsk Hermitage, a  monastery located just miles from the Russian-Ukranian border. Though sometimes overshadowed by Optina, Glinsk boasts its own lineage of God-bearing elders and ascetics. In recent years, 16 of these have been officially glorified as saints. Forced to shut down twice by the Soviet regime, the Glinsk Hermitage reopened in 1994. Now, their existence is once again under threat. The brotherhood is suffering financial hardship because prolonged tensions between the two countries have led to a dearth of pilgrims and donations. More importantly, hardly any young men are joining the Hermitage as novices.

Over the last several years, Holy Trinity Publications has been blessed to publish several books about monks of the Glinsk Hermitage - Champion of Good: The Life of Father IlarionBeacon of Hope: The Teachings of Father Ilarion; and Elder Zenobius: A Life in Continuity with Pre-Revolutionary Russia

Now through Lazarus Saturday (April 4th, 2015) we will contribute a portion of sales of these titles directly to the Glinsk Hermitage. Qualifying purchases are:

1) Champion of Good and Beacon of Hope: The Life and Teachings of Father Ilarion (2 book set), available at the discounted price of $25. $10 of each purchase will go to the brotherhood.

2) Any of the three books above, separately. 20% of each purchase will go to the brotherhood.

We will also accept donations through our Paypal account. Simply make a Paypal transfer to sales@holytrinitypublications.com and reference "Glinsk Hermitage Donation" in the notes or instructions field.
