1. Very Great Book

   I attend the Old Cathedral of The Holy Virgin in San Francisco. My priest Father James recommended the Book for the Great Lent. It is a Great Book for lent, or anytime you wish great spiritual reading.

2. Entering into Great Lent

   When I saw that Holy Trinity was publishing a book of this liturgy I wanted my own copy for the first week of Great Lent. It has good type size, well put together. As an added benefit it has "The Life of out Holy Mother Mary of Egypt" along with the liturgy.

3. The Great Canon in English

   This is a very useful little booklet and allows the user to follow the Canon of Saint Andrew during the First and Fifth weeks of the Great Fast without holding heavy books. The translation found in the Lenten Triodion of Mother Mary and Bishop Kallistos has been wisely chosen as this is now by far the most widely used, for very good reasons.
   
   It is a pity that the text of Great Compline is not included. This would have added only a few pages but would have made the book even more valuable.

4. Great improved re-issue!

   This is a great re-issue of the Great Canon with some valuable improvements. I believe this uses the same translation as before, by Mother Mary and Archimandrite Kallistos Ware. However, the text has all been reset and is now much easier to read. The binding is still booklet-style binding with staples, but this has the advantage of keeping the cost down. The binding is certainly adequate and the glossy cover is more durable than the previous version.
   
   The new typesetting of the text alone makes this new version very worth purchasing.
