Along with the Bible and the Synaxaristes, Holy Fathers' Teachings make up the backbone of an Orthodox home library. The advantage to commentary of a modern Father is that he includes all the Fathers before him in his teachings. Fr. Seraphim Rose recognized the value of Abp. Averky's teachings for Americans; and old Jordanville also saw this and translated many of Abp. Averky's sermons into English. If you have only one Holy Father commentary on the New Testament in your home library, let it be this one. These books are heirloom quality and/or they can be given as a special gift, such as a wedding present. The next generation greatly needs grounding in the old ROCOR. The more of these sets that are found in Orthodox homes, the better it will be for now and years from now for our Church.

As a church reader, I am very pleased to have a deeper insight into the texts I read each Sunday and every day. Archbishop Averky helps us in our journey through the Scriptures. And in this very Volume III, the text of Blessed Seraphim of Platina about the Book of Revelation is the first one I ever read about a book that is not used in the Church's Liturgy. I highly recommend that book to everyone.
