This is an excellent text filled with the spiritual insights of St. John of Kronstadt, presented as a series of brief reflections in a very personal tone.
Each reflection is a gem in itself that provides much to digest. Combined with the short length of each passage, this makes this text perfect for brief reading sessions in the morning or evening, or when one needs a respite from the wiles of wordly life.
At the same time, many passages are very deep and often quite challenging in a spiritual sense. As a lay person, these reflections give guidance on what those seeking a life in Christ are striving for, while offering a sobering and humbling reminder of how truly poor and weak we are as fallen creatures.
In the respect, I whole-heartedly agree with Richard's review, and also suggest reading this text slowly and incrementally, which is well-served by the brevity of the "bite-sized" length of each reflection.
The volume itself is of excellent quality. There is a very useful subject index at the back of the book, which makes it easy to look up reflections on particular topics if one is seeking specific guidance.
The binding is solid, the covers are sturdy, and the textured surface makes the text easy and comfortable to hold. The cover design is also nice, and is set into the cover surface. The pages are thick and sturdy, and the printing clear and well organized.
All in all, this is a quality text in a quality volume that makes an excellent companion for daily reading for anyone seeking a life in Christ.

I’ve been enjoying My Life in Christ by St. John of Kronstadt over the past couple of weeks. However, I must say that this book is one best read slowly, a little bit at a time. It’s not that the content is complex, but it is very deep and moving. It requires time and reflection.
Most of the entries are fairly short with dividers between them. I try to read just one a day. The new binding and translation are both wonderful. The binding is high quality, and a ribbon marker will hold your place.
I anticipate taking two or more years to go through this book; and then, I will probably just start again.
